THE Golden Globes are famous for not taking themselves as seriously as some other awards shows, like the Oscars.
At the Globes, speeches are allowed to flow longer, alcohol flows freely at the nominees’ tables, and anything can happen.

And given the fact the show is live, there is little time for network censors to catch every embarrassing moment.
Last year, Jennifer Coolidge, who won her first-ever Golden Globe for her role in The White Lotus, shocked Golden Globes viewers with several NSFW blunders and cursing in her acceptance speech.
An out-of-breath Jennifer, 62, took to the stage in a floor-length sequin gown during the show.
She began her speech by simply saying, “Thank you. Thank you so much. Wow. Thank you Hollywood Foreign Press. It really means a lot.”
The Legally Blonde actress then joked, “I can put this down right? I don’t work out, you know what I mean? I can’t hold it that long.”
Her speech took a turn as she began reflecting on some of the harder times in her career, eventually thanking her cast and crew.
But sadly, her concluding sentence was cut off, startling Stifler’s mom and causing her to curse on-air.
The star carried on anyway after acknowledging her mistake. Then she began saying something else but was again cut off by her NSFW language.
Jennifer concluded, “I just want to say this is really a fun night.”
An overly cautious censor began to bleep her at “fun,” but relented when she didn’t actually curse.
JIMMY FALLON

Jimmy Fallon had a nightmare during his first time presenting the awards after a technical hitch left him stuck.
The Tonight Show star hosted the Globes in 2017, and he found himself in trouble right from the start.
As Jimmy walked out to deliver his opening monologue, the former Saturday Night Live funnyman was the victim of a teleprompter fail.
He told the audience at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, “Thank you so much, this is, er The Golden Globes, and already the teleprompter is down.
“What a way to start the show!
“I can do impressions, I can think of something – cut to Justin Timberlake now. He’ll wink at me or something.”
Walking around the stage Jimmy improvised and poked fun at various big names in the room until the problem could be fixed.
JONAH HILL AND MARGOT ROBBIE

Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie starred in the high-paced and fast-talking movie The Wolf of Wall Street.
But when tasked with co-presenting an award in 2014, the decorated actors suddenly found themselves at a loss for words.
Jonah and Margot took the stage to introduce their movie as a contender in the Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical category.
However, they quickly discovered the teleprompter had the wrong script, and instead was displaying text meant for two other presenters – for a completely different award.
The Superbad star thought up a super fast response, confessing, “I’m not going to lie to you, right now, they put up the wrong stuff on the teleprompter.”
The sympathetic crowd laughed and applauded in response.
That gave producers enough time to bring out some note cards with the correct script for the two, who were then able to continue.
EMMA STONE

Emma Stone was left red-faced during the 2017 Golden Globes, as she went to give her La La Land director a congratulations kiss – only to be snubbed on live TV.
The actress was left mortified as she jumped up to embrace Damien Chazelle after he won Best Director before he’d even had a chance to kiss his girlfriend.
Emma leaped out of her seat when his name was called and hugged him, moving in closer to plant a kiss on his cheek.
But he turned away from her and instead embraced his now-wife Olivia Hamilton, leaving Emma hanging.
Outwardly shocked, she was seen mouthing, “That was weird, I’m sorry!”
Weeks later, Emma told Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show, “I am not a highly choreographed person, in general. No.”
RENEE ZELLWEGER

Renee Zellweger was nowhere to be seen when she was announced as the Best Actress for her role in Nurse Betty back in 2001.
It turned out she nearly missed her own award – as she was stuck in the bathroom.
As Renee later explained, “I sat at my table and I was thinking about how uncomfortable I was at that moment.
“I thought, ‘I can just go for a little walk, I’ll go to the bathroom for a second.
“I’m going to put on some lipstick — that’s the answer.’
“I went to the bathroom, I’m putting some lipstick on and then I thought, ‘That’s too much’ and I wiped it off and then I tried to close my purse and it wouldn’t close.
“I threw out the lipstick then realized I haven’t got enough lipstick on so I’m digging in the trash can.”
In the background she recalled hearing a man shouting, “Hey, come on Renee!” — it was actor Hugh Grant on stage, waiting to present her with the award.
Renee said, “A young lady came over to me, nudged me, and said, ‘I think he’s talking to you.’
“I left the lipstick, poked my head out and they were like, ‘You’ve got to come now! You won!'”
