Michael Dawson believes Vincent Kompany ‘fits the mould’ of who should be the next Tottenham Hotspur manager. The Burnley boss is in the mix to replace Antonio Conte.
Spurs are looking for a new manager after firing Conte this Monday. The Italian was out of contract in the summer but Daniel Levy brought forward his departure. Cristian Stellini has now taken the role of acting head coach with Ryan Mason as his deputy until this summer.
Tottenham are already looking for their next permanent manager, though, and admire the work Kompany has achieved with Burnley. Sky Sports reports the Clarets boss is a credible candidate to replace Conte in north London. But he is just one of several potential options.

Replacing Conte as the next manager of Tottenham interests Burnley boss Kompany
Yet The Sun also reports Kompany is among the leading candidates to replace Conte as the next manager of Tottenham. The Belgian’s instant success at Turf Moor with the Clarets en route to lift the Championship title this season has greatly impressed Spurs chairman Levy.

Kompany is also interested in leaving Burnley to take over from Conte as the next manager of Tottenham. He knows the Clarets will struggle to produce a big budget to keep the club in the Premier League next season. But the 36-year-old is under contract until June 2025.

Dawson issues his honest verdict on Kompany leaving Turf Moor for Spurs
Former Tottenham captain Dawson has now issued his honest verdict on Kompany leaving Burnley to replace Conte as the next manager of Spurs. He believes the Belgian would be a great fit for what Levy wants in a head coach and with his willingness to use young players.
“Kompany, you look at what he brought into Burnley – the young players,” Dawson said on Sky Sports News (01/04, 12:17). “I understand that [he struggled at Anderlecht]. But I think he fits the mould for Spurs.”
Burnley signed 22-year-old Lyle Foster in January for £22m following Kompany’s moves for Enock Agyei, 18, CJ Egan-Riley, 19, Anass Zaroury, 21, Darko Churlinov, Luke McNally and Scott Twine, 22, and Arijanet Muric and Vitinho, 23, during his transfer first window there.
