Is Finding Michael not on Disney+ and is it delayed? HITC investigates.
It’s shaping up to be a big year for film fans with all genres flourishing so far in 2023.
One title that has been rather highly anticipated in recent memory is Finding Michael, a 2023 documentary movie.
The project focuses a lens on Spencer Matthews, who many viewers will know as a star of Made In Chelsea.
Over the past month or so, Disney+ has been promoting the documentary, which follows Spencer accompanying a team to bring back the body of his brother, Michael, from the summit of Everest. Tragically, Michael passed away on an expedition in 1999 at the age of 22 but the body was never recovered.
Offering an alternative to the likes of The Mandalorian and Marvel shows on the platform, it promises to be a riveting and emotional experience but is Finding Michael not on Disney+ and is it delayed?

Is Finding Michael on Disney+ yet or is it delayed?
Although Finding Michael was given a Disney+ release date of Friday, March 3rd 2023, it is yet to be added to the platform.
It was scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and other regions, Disney Plus Informer reports, but they acknowledge that there have been murmurs of the release date being delayed due to last-minute edits.
On the other hand, this potential reason for the documentary’s absence hasn’t been officially confirmed and Disney is yet to announce a new release date.

However, the official Disney+ Instagram page has explained in a comments section that they are officially “shifting the debut” and “will update the release date soon.”

‘I had this kind of hatred and resentment’
Michael recently sat for an interview with the Radio Times and opened up about the origins of the documentary.
“I always grew up with the understanding that Mike’s 1999 expedition was badly organized and his death could have potentially been avoided,” he explained.
“I grew up feeling like his life was the price paid for the mistakes of others and that made grieving him harder because it felt like it wasn’t so much an accident, which would have almost been easier to deal with, so I had this kind of hatred and resentment towards certain people growing up.”
