The two singers shared a video on their Instagram profiles encouraging fans to listen to their newest holiday cover, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

In the clip, Ally and Dinah sat down to discuss their excitement for the song – and how shocked they were to find out it’s been five years since they were last together as a group.

“We were on top of the world,” Ally said, reminiscing on their Fifth Harmony days.

Dinah agreed: “I didn’t realize it until after the fact. Other artists would interact with us and I would be like ‘Oh my Gosh, what the heck? Did I make it?'”

The Gone To Bed singer revealed she was “beyond pumped” for the fans to hear their new holiday song.

“I’m just as excited as they are,” Dinah revealed, “I’m really excited for them because they deserve a little reunion of some sort.”

Ally explained: “Now that it’s the holidays, I love that we were able to collaborate cause it’s all about fam and love and we were able to bring that in Have Yourself [A Merry Little Christmas].

“We’re bringing the fans and the world a gift of our music and each other.”

FAN REACTIONS

While many fans were excited about the reunion, others were missing the other Fifth Harmony members: Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello.

One fan revealed: “Okay now do the 5 of you.”

“We need a Fifth Harmony Reunion,” commented another.

A third replied to the above comment: “With Camila.”

“Fifth harmony isn’t the same without any of the girls,” a fourth user pointed out.

A fifth defended the other members: “Fifth Harmony is 5 members but we as fans should respect them if all of them don’t want to do a reunion as a group.”

FIFTH HARMONY’S MUSIC HISTORY

In 2012, Fifth Harmony had five members: Ally, Dinah, Normani, Lauren, and Camila.

They were introduced to the world on the US version of The X-Factor in 2012.

The girls released their first single titled Miss Movin’ On, which currently has over 100million streams on Spotify.

That same year, they released their EP, Better Together.

In 2015, their debut alum Reflection was released which featured hit songs like Worth It and Boss. Their alum peaked at the number five spot on the Billboard 200 Chart.

One year later, their second album, 7/27 reached number four on the Billboard 200 and featured their biggest charting hit, Work From Home – which hit number four on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart.

CAMILA’S DRAMATIC EXIT

In December 2016, Camila made the decision to leave the group to focus on her solo career.

On December 16, the official Fifth Harmony social media account revealed they were informed of Camila’s decision “via her representatives.”

The statement said: “We wish her well. … That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us – Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors.”

Camila quickly put out a lengthy statement regarding her truth via X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I was shocked to read the statement the Fifth Harmony account posted without my knowing,” she said, “The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future that we had during tour.

“Saying that they were just informed through my representatives that I was ‘leaving the group’ is simply not true. Just like the other girls said in their statement about their plans, I had also planned to continue with my own solo endeavors in the new year but I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way.

“As sad as it is to see this chapter ending this way, I will continue to root them all on as individuals and as a group, I wish nothing but the best for them, all the success in the world and true happiness.”

She ended her statement by thanking the fans for their continuous support.

THEIR FINAL BOW

In 2018, the remaining members: Lauren, Ally, Dinah, and Normani revealed they were going their separate ways after releasing their self-titled album.

The group tweeted: “We’ve had one hell of a memorable journey together and can’t begin to express our gratitude to y’all for coming along with us on this wild journey.

“After six years going hard, nonstop, we realize that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and you.

“We need to take some time, for now, to go on a hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue sole endeavors.

“We are all very excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively and really find our footing as individuals.

“In doing this, we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths, and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family.”

The band further expressed: “To our Harmonizers, thank you for everything we have been able to build as Fifth Harmony.

“With your love and encouragement, we will continue to build on ourselves, support one another in everything we do, and keep making you proud, each other proud, and ourselves proud.”
