The New Girl actress is known for rocking one signature style, so fans were unprepared for the style switch-up.

Zooey, 43, took to her Instagram feed on Thursday to show off her new look.
In the photo, the star appeared to be leaning over a table or small desk to take a photo in a mirror.
She ditched her usual dark brown hair in favor of a bright blonde style.
The New Girl star had her hair in big curls that framed her face.
In a second photo, Zooey was seen standing upright.
She had the same hairstyle and was wearing a bright blue bodysuit.
She paired the top with a pair of camo-printed sweatpants and wore a dark jacket over top.
Fans in the comments were stunned at the change in her appearance.

Zooey has rocked blonde hair in the past but this style still seems like a drastic departure.
When she appeared in the Christmas classic film Elf, she was rocking platinum blonde hair.
She went back to brown afterward and has not looked back since, however.

Zooey’s appearance has been a hot topic in the past.
The actress has been compared to another Hollywood A-lister, with fans wondering if they’re related.
The 500 Days of Summer star is regularly compared to Katy Perry.
Many have noted the similarities in their complexion, their blue eyes, and the similar hairstyles they once both rocked.
Despite their uncanny similar features, Zooey and the American Idol host are not related, although they have some things in common.
Both are California girls – Katy was born October 25th, 1984 in Santa Barbara and Zooey in Los Angeles on January 17th, 1980.
Katy’s parents are both Christian pastors while Zooey’s mom was an actress and her father a director.
On Instagram Live in December 2020, the pair addressed the lookalike chatter.
Katy once admitted that she used to pretend to be Zooey to get into clubs.
“I have to admit something, Zooey,” she said. “When I came to LA I was pretty much a nobody and you were like just getting so huge at that time. It was like Zooey Deschanel ran the world at that particular moment.”
“But I have to admit something to you,” she continued. “When I first got to L.A., I went to the club a lot. And I wanted to get into the club and I had no money, I had no clout, I had nothing, and sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club.”
As it turns out, Zooey already knew what Katy was doing at that time.
“People would be like, ‘I saw you!’ “the ELF actor recalled, laughing.
“But I’m such a Goody Two-shoes and people kept going, ‘I saw you out! I made eye contact with you!’ And I was like, ‘No!’ And then everybody kept telling me about this girl Katy, Katy, who looks just like you,’ and I’m like, ‘Who is this Katy?’”
