Fans gleeful to see Megan Hauserman return to small screen in new Discovery docuseries

Discovery’s six-part docuseries The Playboy Murders began airing on Monday, January 23, 2023 and includes segments of former Playboy “Cybergirl of the week” Megan Hauserman.

Hauserman was at the centre of the VH1 reality competition series Megan Wants A Millionaire.

The premise of the show was that 17 rich, single men competed for the affections of former Rock Of Love contestant Megan Hauserman. During casting, VH1 reportedly asked for single men with a net worth of over $1 million.

However, only three episodes ever saw the light of day. VH1 officially cancelled it on August 24, 2009, three weeks after its August 2 premiere.

Who is Megan Hauserman, and where is she now?

Born November 5, 1981, Megan Hauserman’s age is 41, at time of publication. She is a model and former reality television personality. Her most recent public or onscreen appearance is in The Playboy Murders, which just started airing this week.

Two years ago, she appeared in For Real: The History Of Reality TV. However, before then, she spent several years out of the public eye.

The mid to late 2000s may have been her heyday, with regard to her reality TV and modelling careers. She was also the feature model for the Boca Raton-based jewellery company Cerca Trova Fashion in 2013, and led the marketing campaign.

Megan Hauserman now lives in the Florida city of Boca Raton. It is perhaps best known for its golf courses, but it also boasts large beaches and a sea turtle sanctuary.

Is she married?

No, Megan Hauserman is not married – at least, not according to others’ reports – but she is engaged.

Her life partner is Derren Garber, a former professional golfer. He finished fourth in the New York State Juniors in 2001, and won the Palm Beach four-ball tournament in 2003 and 2004.

Born May 12, 1985, he is between three and four years younger than Hauserman. He hails from Great Neck, New York.

On September 6, 2014, Megan Hauserman posted a picture of their baby boy, whom she referred to as “Little D” (next to his father, “Big D”), on Facebook. She gave birth at West Boca Medical Center, in Boca Raton.

What do we know about Megan Hauserman’s educational and professional background?

She went to the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduating in 2005 with a degree in accounting.

Her first break into the modelling business was on the Jerry Springer show, in the early 2000s. She was a student at the time.

Then, from 2005 to 2010, she worked as a fitness model for Benchwarmer Trading Cards. In 2009, Guitar World magazine featured her in its Holiday 2009 Review Guide; it did so the following year, too, for its 2010 Buyer’s Guide.

Megan Hauserman won Beauty And The Geek’s third season, with partner Alan “Scooter” Zackheim; appeared on the second season of VH1’s Rock Of Love reality TV series; and was a contestant on I Love Money’s first season.

What is her connection to Discovery’s Playboy Murders docuseries?

In The Playboy Murders, former Playboy bunny Holly Madison investigates the circumstances surrounding the death of Jasmine Fiore.

Fiore entered the Playboy universe in her late teens, in 2000. She became an event coordinator for the brand in 2006, and in 2009 she met Ryan Jenkins.

He had just left the set of Megan Wants A Millionaire, starring Megan Hauserman. On the show, he had presented himself as a real estate tycoon worth over $2.5 million, according to the New York Post.

The Post adds that, in The Playboy Murders, Hauserman says her show’s producers “forced her” to “dump” Jenkins and choose someone else. Two days later, she got a call from him. Before she could explain what had happened, he told her he had met the love of his life, and was married – Megan Hauserman and Ryan Jenkins went their separate ways.

The second episode of The Playboy Murders will air on January 30.
