The American brewing company Anheuser-Busch and its products have become subject to a number of rumors since the Bud Light controversy broke, including one that claims “Budweiser loses 800 million dollars in one day”, but there’s no truth to any of them.
As if baseless reports claiming Anheuser-Busch CEO’s fake resignation and speculations alleging Budweiser’s marketing team’s layoff wasn’t enough, we are now hearing that Budweiser has lost a fortune due to the massive nose-dive in their stocks.
For the unversed, calls for boycotting Anheuser-Busch were prompted by one of Bud Light’s campaigns featuring Dylan Mulvaney, which was shunned by many over supposed “gender propaganda” for monetary benefits, even though the company maintained it was only celebrating the transgender activist’s personal milestone.
Rumor claims ‘Budweiser loses $800 million’
Netizens are busy predicting Anheuser-Busch’s stocks would plunge owing to the controversy it is embroiled in, but there are no official reports or numbers to prove the same and even the company hasn’t commented on it.
But, an unverified report claims Budweiser‘s “latest push to ‘go woke’ with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney has caused a massive nose-dive in their stock, and as of this morning, lost them nearly 800 million dollars.”
On tracing down the source story, we noticed, the above article with false claims was shared by a satirical website.
Keeping aside the discussions about whether the company’s “wokeism” comes with an extreme cost, it’s safe to say there’s no evidence to prove that Budweiser is suffering a major loss, as much as $800 million.
Anheuser-Busch’s CEO hasn’t resigned
Just like the one above, several satirical pieces especially shared by conservatives, have resulted in a lot of confusion.

Many took to social media to confirm if the United States CEO of the brewing company had resigned in the midst of the controversy sparked by the Bud Light Campaign, after reports that Augustus Anheuser Busch III had stepped down from his position.
The false report was, however just another dig at the company because Augustus, the great-grandson of Anheuser-Busch founder, Adolphus Busch, left his position as the Chairman in 2006.
Its current CEO Brandan Whitworth is overlooking the company’s growth and long-term commercial strategy, having been associated with it since 2013.
Who is Dylan Mulvaney?
Dylan is a 26-year-old transgender influencer from California.
She is known for documenting her transition from male to female in the viral TikTok series. Since the beginning of her journey, Dylan has been subject to extreme criticism and hatred by transphobes.
On the other hand, Dylan has served as a major inspiration to millions of people from the LGBTQ community across the globe and even landed major partnerships in the process.
Despite the opposition to her Byud Light campaign, she signed with Nike for their sports bra endorsement only a few days ago.
