Liverpool now want to sign Bradley Barcola from Lyon after being left impressed by the French wonderkid’s performances.
What’s the story?
Well – according to Fabrizio Romano – the Reds are monitoring the Lyon No.26’s development along with a number of other clubs across Europe.
Barcola has put his name up in lights this season after breaking into the starting XI under Laurent Blanc.
The 20-year-old has impressively scored seven goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances for Lyon so far this term, including the winning strike in a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday 2nd April.
Romano – one of the most reliable journalists around – believes Liverpool have sent scouts to keep an eye on Barcola.
Jürgen Klopp was able to get a glimpse of the French prodigy up close back in December when Liverpool took on Lyon in a friendly during the World Cup break.
Barcola actually scored as Lyon recorded a 3-1 win over the Reds. Alexandre Lacazette netted the other two goals.
Bradley Barcola interest should excite Liverpool fans
Some Liverpool fans may be feeling quite disillusioned about recruitment plans at Anfield right now, as The Times believe a move for Jude Bellingham has been put to one side.
Despite that, links to Barcola – who can play anywhere across the frontline – should still excite supporters.
The Lyon-born wonderkid looks set to become a star of the future, and a club of Liverpool’s size need to be snapping up prospects like this before they become £80m diamonds.

Of course, some will argue that Klopp doesn’t need another forward.
While that is currently true, a lot can change very quickly in football, so Liverpool should look to secure a deal before loaning Barcola back to Lyon until they need him.
Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as anything could happen this summer.
