Michael Owen has praised Reiss Nelson for his ‘great’ strike that helped Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal secure a dramatic stoppage-time win over Bournemouth on Saturday at the Emirates.
Ian Wright stated that Nelson is someone who ‘everyone has faith in’ at Arsenal and he is a player that has always ‘stuck’ by the club, as he told the Weekend Review on Premier League Productions (06/03/23 at 10:55 pm).
Arsenal have had some seriously wild and dramatic moments this season, but the scenes that unfolded at the Emirates over the weekend won’t be topped.

It might just be written in the stars that the Premier League title will be headed to north London for the first time in nearly two decades because, so far, it is very much deserved.
It’s crazy to think that a goal was scored in the opening ten seconds of the game and then decided in the last ten seconds.
Either way, whilst relegation-threatened Bournemouth will still feel deflated, the man stealing the headlines is Nelson and he was praised by both Michael Owen and Ian Wright after the full weekend of Premier League action had unfolded.
“It was a great strike with his left foot,” said Owen. “He was planning on that dropping to his right foot. He chested it down, but the spin on the ball was always kicking it to his left foot, as he chests it down, it was on his weaker foot.

“Imagine how excited he was and you have to go cold in those situations.”
Ian Wright added: “If Arsenal can go on and win the title. He’s Hale-End academy. He loves the club. He has stuck with the club. He’s somebody that everyone has a lot of faith in his ability. It’s just not quite happened for him.”

FIVE POINT LEAD
Arsenal went into the Bournemouth game having dispatched another team down the bottom in midweek – Sean Dyche’s Everton.
Added to that, Manchester City had seen off Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United during the lunchtime game, so the gap was two points.
But as Kyle Walker mentioned to Bukayo Saka before the England players headed out to the World Cup back in November, this Arsenal team just can’t stop winning.
