Jamie Carragher has ripped into Liverpool after their 5-2 annihilation against Real Madrid in the 1st leg of the Champions League Round of 16 clash at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s men got off to a dream start against Carlo Ancelotti’s side, leading 2-0 within just 14 minutes after goals from Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah. However, the Reds gifted the visitors two goals in the same half, as Vinicius Jr. scored a brace.
However, it seems every Liverpool fan, including Jamie Carragher was raging after how the hosts capitulated in the 2nd half, as Real Madrid scored as many 3 to virtually end the tie for all practical purposes.

Ultimately, the Anfield faithful have every right to be steaming, as their side made it too easy for Eder Militao and Karim Benzema to put the ball into the back of the net, while the defending in the build-up to Joe Gomez’s own goal was laughable as well.

After Liverpool got demolished by Real Madrid, Jamie Carragher told CBS, as relayed by Ben Jacobs, “That was shambolic from Liverpool. Embarrassing. We’ve made excuses for them all season, but that was a disgrace in that 2nd half. To lose that half 3-0 when you’re attacking the Kop at 2-2 and in a knockout game. Shambolic.”

Hard to disagree with Carragher
The Reds were in dreamland and looked comfortably better than Los Blancos for at least the first two quarters of the 1st half.
But the way Liverpool collapsed soon after and let Real Madrid moonwalk into the tie has understandably angered Jamie Carragher.
It continues to go from bad to worse for the Merseyside-based club and in some ways, their dismal showing against the same side that they battled to beat in last season’s final is symbolic of how far they have fallen.
