The director of The Vampire Dies in No Time anime adaptation has teased that there will “surely be a next time” ahead of season 3.
The end of the 2023 Winter anime slate can be a time of relief or anxiety for fans pondering the future of their favorite series.
This includes the supernatural gag comedy The Vampire Dies in No Time, which reached its season 2 finale yesterday, March 27 on Crunchyroll.
Whilst we are still waiting for an official announcement concerning The Vampire Dies in No Time season 3, all of the signs are there that the anime will return for more hilarious fun – here is everything that fans need to know.
The Vampire Dies in No Time season 3 renewal status
As previously noted, The Vampire Dies in No Time has not yet been publicly renewed for season 3; however, it should only be a matter of time before the anime returns to our screens once again.
Following the season 2 episode 12 finale, director Hiroshi Kojina would share on Twitter how “There will surely be a next time” but curiously added, “Even if I’m not the director because everyone is so passionate about it, please wait.”
The good news is that even without this tease from director Kojina, there remains an extremely good chance that The Vampire Dies in No Time will return for a third season. This is because not only does the series have plenty more source material available, but the anime should also prove popular enough to warrant another broadcast.
Whilst each episode chopped and changed the order of chapters that it adapted, The Vampire Dies in No Time season 2 finale ended by covering up until roughly the end of Volume 14 – which was published in Japan back in December 2019.

The good news for fans of the show is that a total of 24 complete Tankobon volumes of the original manga have been published in Japan. This not only means that there is enough source material for season 3 straight away, but potentially a fourth too if the manga maintains its current release schedule throughout 2023.
Unfortunately, mangaka Itaru Bonnoki recently revealed that the series will be on pending hiatus for the March and April 2023 issues of Weekly Shonen Champion due to the author’s poor health, the manga will resume in May.
The Vampire Dies in No Time should also prove popular enough to merit another broadcast and the resources required to animate a series to its expected standard. Season 2 scored notably higher than the first season on the majority of user-based websites, including a 7.44/10 on MyAnimeList, 3.7/5 on Anime Planet, and 73% on Anilsit.
Interestingly, some fans are actually expecting The Vampire Dies in No Time season 3 to be announced in the Summer. This is because the series will feature at the special Nu event – From Shinyoko to Shinjukku on June 11, including a special announcement from the main voice cast.
The only issue here is with Studio Madhouse’s current schedule for 2023, which includes four major productions of Sousou no Frieren, The Gene of AI, Loving Yamada at Lv999, and Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom.
Overall, considering both the availability of source material and the current lineup for Studio Madhouse, fans should expect The Vampire Dies in No Time season 3 to release in either April 2024 or July 2024.
