Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have made an approach to the representatives of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.
That is according to new claims from Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the race for Mac Allister is well and truly on.
Romano claims on Twitter that Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all approached the representatives of Mac Allister.
Romano adds more on YouTube, claiming that Mac Allister is now planning for a summer move away from Brighton.
It’s suggested that a deal is expected although Brighton will be tough to negotiate with over their prized midfielder.
Romano claims that Liverpool have already asked for information and more contact from the Reds is coming soon.
Romano also suggested that Mac Allister’s Brighton exit could be an ‘early move’ in the summer transfer market with work already being done now.
“An important update I have on Alexis Mac Allister; from what I understand, Alexis Mac Allister is planning for a summer move, so he is waiting and hoping for a summer move and the expectation is for him to get an important move in the summer. We have to respect Brighton, we know they are tough in the negotiations, but the expectation is for Mac Allister to receive important bids in the summer and so, for him to have a chance to go and have a different opportunity for his future.”
“What I am told is that the Argentinian midfielder, in this moment has three clubs interested in signing him. Chelsea, they appreciate the player but they are not alone in this race and this race is not decided yet because Liverpool are there, Liverpool are also interested in Alexis Mac Allister, they asked for information.”
“I’m told that, with Mac Allister, there will be contacts on Liverpool’s side to understand the conditions of the deal. There is strong interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in Alexis Mac Allister, the player will take his time, will speak to people close to him to make the best decision, but there is a lot of interest so Mac Allister could get a summer move – and could be an early move on the market,” he added.

Alexis Mac Allister could be a great addition for Liverpool
Mac Allister’s stock has really been on the rise this season.
The 24-year-old has racked up eight goals in 25 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls this season.
Mac Allister was also superb at the World Cup, helping Argentina win the whole tournament over in Qatar.
Mac Allister has been hailed as ‘incredible’ by Brighton’s Adam Lallana, with the former Liverpool midfielder’s opinion no doubt valuable to Jurgen Klopp.
Quality on the ball and a hard worker off it, Mac Allister fits the bill as Liverpool desperately seek new energy in midfield.
The problem will be Brighton’s demands.
The Seagulls are under no pressure to sell and will surely demand in excess of £50million for Mac Allister this summer having haggled big money for Ben White and Marc Cucurella.
That’s still cheaper than Jude Bellingham and whilst Mac Allister isn’t quite as athletically blessed as Bellingham for a box-to-box role, he has so much ability that Liverpool may just think he can revolutionise their midfield.
