Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has suggested on the club’s official website that Jakub Kiwior could have done better against Sporting Lisbon on Thursday evening.
Arteta has said that Kiwior did well on his Arsenal debut against Sporting in Lisbon in the UEFA Europa League.
However, the Arsenal boss has suggest that the 23-year-old Poland international centre-back could have done better alongside William Saliba had he been playing regularly with the France international centre-back.
Saliba has been a regular at centre-back for Arsenal so far this season and is a key figure at the North London club.
Kiwior, 23, joined Arsenal from Italian club Spezia in the January transfer window.
The Poland international centre-back started against Sporting alongside Saliba.
According to Arsenal’s official website, Kiwior became the first Polish outfield player in the Gunners’ history.

Mikel Arteta on Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior v Sporting Lisbon
Arteta said about Kiwior: “I think he was good, it’s the first time he’s played so it was a different partnership.
“When you make six changes to the team, that cohesion isn’t really there, and you can sense it especially in the first minutes of the half.
“After that, I think the team got better and better. Overall, I think he played a good game.”
