Arsenal have been heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby in recent months.
Earlier this year, Fabrizio Romano spoke of the Gunners and their long-term interest in the forward.
“Moussa Diaby is a player that Arsenal have been following for a long time and they know him very well,” he told GiveMeSport.

“They’re convinced of his potential.”
Meanwhile, Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger claimed on Twitter that Arsenal held preliminary talks with Leverkusen over a potential Diaby move.
The Gunners were seemingly trying to sign the 23-year-old in the January transfer window, which obviously didn’t happen.
‘If a fantastic offer comes in…’
Now, it looks as though Arsenal may have a bit more luck in the upcoming transfer window.
That’s because, as per Sky Germany’s Marlon Irlbacher, Leverkusen are seemingly open to selling Diaby this summer.
The journalist claims that the German side are ‘ready to talk’ if they receive an offer that convinces them to do so.
However, there is one potential sticking point for Arsenal.
Namely, that Diaby seems to favour a return to Paris Saint-Germain, where he came through the ranks.

“Moussa Diaby is the hottest personnel at Bayer Leverkusen next to Florian Wirtz,” said Irlbacher, as transcribed by Sport Witness.
“His contract is worth €50m until 2025, so there’s really no reason for Bayer 04 to sell him in the coming summer.
“But the fact is, and this is what we hear, that if a fantastic offer comes in, then Bayer 04 is ready to talk and he would not mind making a move to a top European club.
“A return to Paris is on his mind.”

Lauded as ‘astonishing‘ for his displays in Germany, Diaby has made a big impression at Leverkusen.
He has registered 11 goals and six assists in 31 games in all competitions so far.
Diaby has shown great consistency, building on a 2021-22 campaign that saw him score 17 goals and claim 14 assists.
Admittedly, Arsenal have a wealth of attacking talent.
Nonetheless, clubs always want to improve, and Diaby is a player whose qualities would bolster the Gunners ranks massively.
At the same time, would Arsenal be prepared to pay “fantastic” money for a player in a position they’re not desperate to strengthen?
