Alan Shearer says Leandro Trossard has been a ‘clever’ signing from Arsenal after he registered his seventh assist for the club on Saturday.
After Manchester City had beaten Liverpool 4-1 at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta’s side beat Leeds United by the same scoreline hours later, with Leandro Trossard producing again.
Over the course of the season, the 28-year-old has eight goals and ten assists, with seven coming since he swapped the colours of Brighton for those at the Emirates.

When the 90k-a-week star (Spotrac) arrived at Arsenal, he had to hit the ground running and provide the title-chasing side with that extra push, especially with Gabriel Jesus on the sidelines
Well, over the weekend, the duo were combining to score Arsenal’s third goal of the game and Shearer was left impressed, as he told Match of the Day.
“But the way he (Jesus) gives and goes here,” said Shearer. “He gives it to Trossard (to play a one-two). A clever signing Trossard. He has seven assists already and has only been there since January.

“Arsenal are looking good. I was at that Manchester City game when they were beaten at home and I thought ‘this is a big test for them here’. But they are passing with flying colours, at the minute.”

MUDRYK WHO?
Let’s be honest here, if Arsenal had got the deal for Mykhailo Mudryk over the line – and the Ukraine winger wanted the move – then they wouldn’t have signed Trossard.
But sometimes these things work in your favour and it has been the case here.
Whilst Mudryk struggles in the colours of Chelsea, who have just sacked Graham Potter as manager, Trossard is cooking in the colours of Arsenal and on the road to becoming a Premier League title winner.
