RADIO star Bill McDonald has suffered the loss of his wife after her tragic battle with cancer.
Heartbroken, the radio presenter has had to take time off his new job as a host on Brisbane’s 4BC radio.

Bill has been unable to speak on the devastating death of his 54-year-old wife, but his eldest son, Jordan, took to Facebook with a touching post.
He shared a photograph of his mother’s hand tightly clasping his as she lay in her hospital bed.
His caption read: “On behalf of the McDonald family, we are deeply saddened to share that Mum passed away early this morning after a courageous battle with cancer,
“We love you and will miss you dearly.”
Friends, family and followers have been paying tribute to the star’s late wife, and have been expressing their condolences on Jordan’s Facebook post.
One comment reads: “Our deepest condolences to you and your family ….our thoughts and prayers are with you all”.
Another says: “Rest in Love, beautiful lady”.

While a third said: “Sending love and kindness at this terribly difficult time”.
Radio presenter Gary Hardgrave kindly covered for Bill on the show, and informed 4BC listeners of the McDonald family’s tragic loss.
He said: “Gary Hardgrave here in the chair this morning for Bill McDonald. Look, I have some sad news to share with 4BC listeners this morning.”
He then read out Jordan’s Facebook post, and added: “We are thinking of Bill and his family’s four sons at this dreadful and difficult time.”
Bill and his wife Julianne had been together for more than 30 years.
On their 28th wedding anniversary in January 2021, Bill shared a picture of the happy couple to his Instagram with the caption “making memories”.
Bill’s fans and followers were quick to praise the couple.
One wrote: “You two – the blueprint for marriage.”
Others commented “Happy anniversary champions” and “Joy and happiness for your future”.
Bill had only recently taken the job as a host on 4BC, after his eight-year-long Channel Seven morning program was cancelled.
The shock move occurred in September, with Bill first on the show on September 18.
