CARRIE Underwood looked incredible as she showed off a drastic new look, telling fans she’s “going back to her roots”.
The 42-year-old recently wrapped a successful season as a judge on American Idol – two decades after winning the show.

Today Cry Pretty hitmaker Carrie took to Instagram to unveil a new look after swapping her trademark bleach blond hair for her natural colour.
The country music legend shared a series of smiley selfies showing her rocking a warmer ‘bronde’ tone styled in loose waves.
Carrie, who shares sons Isaiah, nine, and Jacob, five, with her ex-professional ice hockey player husband Mike Fisher, said: “Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old.
“But I thought it might be time to give it a second chance. Thanks, @hairbykatelin_ at @parlour3beauty for helping me get back to my roots!”
Fans rushed to comment on the new look, with one writing: “Girl! What a rich and luxurious cut, highlights/lowlights… you wear it well.”
Another said: “So beautiful Carrie! Love it.”
And a third added: “YASS!! I wish more women would embrace their more natural color! It looks great.”
It comes after Carrie’s fellow Idol judge and country star Luke Bryan hinted that she will return for the next series of the competition.
Speaking to Taste Of Country Nights, the Play It Again singer said: “[She] really enjoyed it.
“I know she had a great time in the role.”
Asked whether Carrie is likely to take her seat on the panel again next season, Luke, 49, teased: “My prediction would be highly favorable.”
But it wasn’t all good news for fans, as Luke suggested he might not be back.
When asked about his own future on the show, he simply replied: “Idol is kind of a year-by-year, ‘Do we do it or not?’”
Since winning the show in 2005, Carrie has sold more than 70 million records worldwide and is an eight-time Grammy Award winner – making her by far the most successful Idol champ.
And The U.S Sun recently revealed she’s planning to expand her empire with a fashion and cosmetics brand.
Carrie and her legal team filed to trademark the name “Copper Rose” with regards to the likes of cosmetics, fragrances, clothing and accessories on September 30, 2024.
