Leeds United head coach Javi Gracia has praised the club’s fans for their support to the team against Southampton at Elland Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, as quoted by BBC Radio Leeds journalist Adam Pope on Twitter.
Gracia has hugely impressed by the Leeds fans, and he believes that the atmosphere at Elland Road was “really special”.
It was the former Watford manager’s first game in charge of Leeds since being appointed the Whites’ head coach this week.
Leeds won the match against Southampton 1-0.
Junior Firpo scored the only goal of the match.
It was not one of the best games, and the performance of Leeds was not particularly great.
However, the West Yorkshire club were better than Southampton and got the job done in the end.

Both Leeds and Southampton are still in danger of getting relegated from the Premier League to the Championship at the end of the season.
Javi Gracia on Leeds United fans v Southampton

Big factor
Leeds United have some of the best fans in England, and we believe that the Elland Road faithful will be massive for the team if they are to escape the dreaded drop from the Premier League to the Championship at the end of the season.
Elland Road is one of the hardest ground to go to and win, and the fans will have to make it really tough for opposition players in the coming weeks and months.
