Have you ever seen a performance so impressive that it’s hard to put into words just how colossal an impression it made on you?
If you’re a Bryan Cranston fan then we can answer that for you… yes. You have. The 67-year-old American actor is best known for the central role of Walter White in Breaking Bad but he’s continued to impress since, especially in Your Honor.
Developed by Peter Moffat, the Showtime series premiered back in December 2020 and audiences were recently welcomed back into the fold for season 2 in 2023.
Some have also discovered it streaming on the likes of Hulu and Paramount+ too and with more eyes on the series there’s increasing demand for more installments. Speaking of which, why isn’t Your Honor returning for season 3?
Why isn’t Your Honor returning for season 3?
Your Honor began as a mini-series and it was only ever supposed to run for one season. On the other hand, Bryan explained during an interview on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast that it was only revived for just “one more season” due to the first’s success:
“I am [currently] preparing for the second and last season of Your Honor, which is a limited series that I did for Showtime. As they tell me, it got higher ratings than any other series they’ve ever had — and so, one more season of that.”
It isn’t the first limited series to be revived for a second season due to popularity, following in the footsteps of shows like Big Little Lies. However, Bryan’s comments confirm that it was already extended past its lifespan with season 2 and it won’t happen again.
Taking this into consideration, Your Honor concludes with season 2 and episode 10 serves as both the season and series finale.
Fans still want season 3
As those who have watched the series finale will know, there’s arguably still room for more story and fans have wasted no time in voicing their hopes for renewal despite the announcement.

‘Your Honor is the right thing’
Bryan is clearly passionate about the Michael Desiato role and he previously asked during an Entertainment Weekly interview if it’s hard to commit to a new show after the Breaking Bad success:
“I think my comedy Malcolm In The Middle set the bar high on a situation comedy, and then the bar is equally high on the drama side with Breaking Bad. So that’s why it took so long for me to want to commit to something of more than just one appearance in a show.”
He added: “It had to be the right thing, and I think Your Honor is the right thing.”
