ACTRESS Trina McGee says she managed to defy time and reverse her menopause ahead of her pregnancy.
The 54-year-old star announced she was expecting her fourth child earlier in the week 25 year after she gave birth to her last.
Trina, most known for playing Angela Moore on the teen comedy series, Boy Meets World, sat down for an interview and explained how she managed to get pregnant.
The star was asked whether she was suffering any symptoms, to which she admitted nausea.
Her exhaustion was not dampening her happiness, however.
“Just sheer joy, sheer joy, and I don’t partake in any of the negativity anybody has to say about it. I am so happy. I have been blessed, and that’s it,” she told ET Online.
Trina already has Ramia, 31, and Langston, 29, from her previous marriage with Courtland Davis and she also has her son Ezra, 25, from another relationship.
Her new baby is from her husband, Marcello Thedford, who she married nearly 20 years ago.
The two lovebirds first connected while filming the 1996 American disaster film Daylight alongside Sylvester Stallone.
Trina said her and Marcello had been wanting a child for a while but had no luck.
She added that she had been a year into her menopause before she fell pregnant.
The couple had a discussion and decided to take a more holistic approach to getting pregnant.
Trina was hesitant to try IVF so they went to Belize, where Marcello is said to have a cultural background.
“I have been saying I wanted to have a baby with my current husband of 16 years for quite a while,” Trina explained.
While on their trip, the couple spent time with the indigenous Garifuna people, where they learnt about medicinal herbs.
THE SECRET
Trina said she consulted with spiritual leaders named Shamans who helped her find herbs that supposedly reversed her menopause.
The actor added that she already leads an incredibly healthy lifestyle, which contributed to her results.
“The number one thing for me is to not partake in any stress and stay away from negativity as much as I can, and that pertains to what I put on TV, what I — what I look at on my phone, you know, there’s so much drama and violence and negativity out there as soon as you turn on the screen,” Trina said.
“I really want to be pointed when I turn on the screen — what I’m watching. Because stress, for me, is the biggest factor.”
TAKING A BREAK?
The star intends to ditch social media and stressful viewing to focus on her family during her pregnancy.
Trina said she recently spoke to some of her ex cast-mates, including Danielle Fishel, to update them on her big news.
“Well, funny enough, I did [talk with them] before I announced it,” Trina revealed.
“I happened to be on a like — a little business call with Danielle … and we were all texting and I said, ‘By the way, you know, I’m pretty sure I’m pregnant,’ and they were so kind and so happy,” she concluded.
Trina also explained that she would definitely be open to having another baby after this one, if she could.
