Beyond Paradise returns to our screens this week for another enthralling mystery but who is set to feature alongside Kris Marshall in the cast of episode 2?
After last week’s charming introduction to Shipton Abbott in Beyond Paradise, the Death In Paradise spin-off continues with one of the most puzzling mysteries that DI Humphrey Goodman has ever had to face.
While still getting to grips with his new surroundings, episode 2 of Beyond Paradise sees Humphrey tasked with investigating the disappearance of an entire family with a host of new cast members crossing his path.

Episode 2 of Beyond Paradise arrives on BBC One and iPlayer at 8pm on Friday, March 3, 2023.
After the heart-wrenching final moments of last week’s first episode, Humphrey and fiancée Martha throw themselves into their work to distract from the tragic loss in their efforts to start a family.
Humphrey is faced with one of the most confusing cases he’s ever come across as an entire family has gone missing without a trace, even leaving the TV and lights on and meals half-finished.
Meanwhile, Martha prepares for the long-awaited opening of her café but when a face from her past shows up, it threatens to drag up events she’d long hoped to forget while also making Humphrey incredibly jealous in the process.

Jamie Bamber as Archie Hughes
Jamie Bamber joins Beyond Paradise as a recurring cast member in episode 2, taking on the role of Archie Hughes, Martha’s former flame.
Fans will likely recognise the 49-year-old actor from one of his 60+ acting roles that span a 25-year career including Battlestar Galactica, Law & Order: UK, Monday Mornings, The Smoke, NCIS, ITV’s Marcella, DI Ray and Strike Back.
Edward Rowe as Matthew Colbert
Edward Rowe appears in episode 2 as Matthew Colbert, the father in the disappeared family.
The actor only made his on-screen debut in 2015 but since then, he’s appeared in some big-name projects including Alex Rider, The Witcher, House Of The Dragon, BBC crime drama Strike and the video game Elden Ring.
Jaye Jacobs as Laura Colbert
Joining Edward as his on-screen wife Laura Colbert is Jaye Jacobs.

The Bath-born actress is best known for her long-running stint as Donna Jackson in Holby City, appearing between 2004 and 2022, while she’s also appeared in the likes of Millie Inbetween, Waterloo Road, Midsomer Murders and Still Open All Hours.

Ruth Madoc as Rosie Colbert
Appearing in her final acting role before her death at 79 is acting veteran Ruth Madoc who appears at Matthew’s mum, Rosie.
TV fans will recognise Ruth best from her stint as Gladys in Hi-de-Hi! while other notable credits have come in Hunters Walk, 1971’s Fiddler On The Roof, Animal Ark, Jack Of Hearts, Little Britain, Mist: Sheepdog Tales, Doctors and Casualty.
Ella Kenion as Dorothy Trowman
Another veteran actress joining the cast of episode 2 is Ella Kenion who appears as nosy neighbour, Dorothy Trowman.
Fans will likely know Ella as Mrs Cakeworthy in The Green Green Grass while she’s also appeared in 101 Dalmatian Street, The Knight Before Christmas, The Catherine Tate Show, Hardware, We Know Where You Live and the kids’ shows Q Pootle 5, The Hive, Swashbuckle and The Pinky And Perky Show.
Dan Ball as Christopher Bromley
Dan Ball most recently appeared on our screens in season 2 of Prime Video’s Carnival Row while he’s also appeared in Doc Martin, The Undeclared War and the 2021 film Locked Down.

Phil Daniels as Marvellous Harris
London-born Phil Daniels is an actor with plenty of experience as his CV boasts almost 100 roles dating back to 1972 which include appearances in the likes of EastEnders, I Hate Suzie, House Of The Dragon, Endeavour, Only Fools And Horses prequel Rock & Chips, New Tricks, and Time Gentlemen Please among others.
John Macneill as Adam Avery
John Macneill is no stranger to Beyond Paradise’s filming locations in Devon and Cornwall as he also worked on the likes of Poldark, Doc Martin and Netflix’s adaptation of Rebecca which were all filmed in the same region.
Jon Bone as Gavin Dixon
And finally, we end our cast rundown for episode 2 with Jon Bone who plays Gavin Dixon.
Jon has previously appeared in seven roles prior to his Beyond Paradise bow, with notable credits in Endeavour, Six Minutes To Midnight, Castles In The Sky and 2021’s Tom & Jerry movie.
