A BELOVED Noughties reality star caused a stir when she was spotted wearing a hot dog suit for a waitressing shift at Sonic Drive-In.
Fans of the 42-year-old TV personality later realized she was filming episodes for her new Peacock show, as she prepares for a comeback.
Nicole Richie donned the costume as she joined Paris Hilton on 6 August to film scenes for The Simple Life reboot at a Sonic Drive-In restaurant in Los Angeles.
The duo, who called themselves “Silly” and “Billy” on the show, gave the restaurant’s blue uniforms a fashionable upgrade as they were spotted laughing and holding hands on the set.
While Paris, 43, accessorized the outfit with a pair of sparkly silver heels and mirrored sunglasses, Nicole paired it was beige slingbacks before changing into the promotional hot dog suit.
Paris and Nicole joined forces in 2003, when the first season of The Simple Life was released on Fox.
The show followed the wealthy socialites as they travelled across the U.S. working different odd jobs like catching craw fish, working as maids in a nudist resort, and sausage-making.
The Fox series’ future became uncertain after three seasons in 2005, when Paris confirmed she and Nicole were “no longer friends.”
“It’s no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends,” the Hilton hotel heiress said in a statement. “Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I’m ever going to say about it.”
Nonetheless, the show returned for a fourth season in 2006, with the former friends largely filming their portions separately.
A few months after season four was released, Paris and Nicole sparked reconciliation rumors after they were photographed grabbing dinner together at a West Hollywood restaurant.
Nicole later said their fight was “built up by the press” in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine the following year.
Paris, who was also interviewed for the feature, said their fall-out “made me sadder than any breakup with a boyfriend.”
“There was no reason why we were fighting; it was just silly. We believed what other people were saying,” she explained.
“People are really two-faced in this town, and they were trying to play us against each other. It made me sadder than any breakup with a boyfriend. It was just like the worst feeling ever.”
The Simple Life was ultimately cancelled after five seasons in 2007.
In May, TMZ reported that Paris and Nicole were returning to their reality TV roots with a new show – 20 years after The Simple Life first premiered.
The news came shortly after Nicole teased a potential reunion with Paris on May 8 in an Instagram post that included stills from the show, with the caption, “From Day 1: Sill and Bill.”
The Peacock show is not expected to be a reboot of their hit 00s series, with Deadline later confirming it won’t be The Simple Life 2.0.
However, no other details have been made available, as a release date is yet to be confirmed.
Paris opened up about working with Nicole for the new Peacock series in an Instagram video posted last July.
“Hey guys, just got home from shooting with Nicole,” the mother-of-two said. “As some of you may know, we are doing a reunion special to celebrate 20 years of our show, The Simple Life.
“It’s been so much fun and we’re planning something very, very special and I thought the best place to find the people that I would want to be a part of this is here,” Paris continued.
She then invited the show’s “biggest super fans” to create videos explaining what they loved about The Simple Life, including their favourite moments and episodes.
“If you wanna sing ‘Sanasa’ I would love that too,” Paris concluded, referencing the word she and Nicole used to sing on the show.
