Makabu will be defending his WBC Cruiserweight world championship against Jack in the co-main event. Makabu won the vacant title in 2020 and has retained the belt in his last two contests.
Jack, on the other hand, is a fan-favorite former WBC Super Middleweight and WBA Light Heavyweight world champion who is on an impressive five-fight winning streak.
The event was rumored to feature Ashton Sylve vs Maxwell Awuku but this contest never materialized; Al Maayouf was also originally meant to face Janos Penzes before the Hungarian was replaced by Ronald Martinez.
History will also be made in the evening’s preliminary bouts when Ragad Al-Naimi becomes the first professional female boxer from Saudi Arabia.
Arab News reports that, “Female participation in boxing has never been higher across the Kingdom and Al-Naimi is hoping to deliver an impressive performance to inspire other up-and-coming local talent seeking to emerge on the global stage.”
The main card, headlined by Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury, is set to start from 2 PM ET/7 PM GMT/10 PM Saudi Time.
