England v Ukraine: Group C - UEFA EURO 2024 Qualifying Round

Harry Redknapp says he has heard Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal mentioned as a possibility to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane.

The former Tottenham boss made it very clear that if Harry Kane did the unthinkable and joined Arsenal, then it would be a ‘difficult one’.

Many big names are expected to move during the summer transfer market, no more so than England’s highest-ever goalscorer – West Ham’s Michail Antonio has tipped him to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Over the international break, the 29-year-old surpassed Wayne Rooney’s England record and he now has 55 goals to his name on the international stage.

Many think it’s high time he left the comfort of his home at Spurs and joined a team where he had a realistic chance of winning a trophy.

But where could Kane land? Harry Redknapp ruled out a few clubs, before throwing a surprise name in Arsenal into the hat, as he told talkSPORT.

“It could do (Pochettino’s return influencing Kane to sign a new deal),” said Redknapp. “He got on well with Pochettino.

“He will be weighing up his options now. Who comes in? Manchester City won’t happen now because of Haaland. Manchester United could be a possibility. I wouldn’t see him going abroad.

“I think if he will move, then it will be to another English club. I mean, even Arsenal have been mentioned, but I can’t ever see that happening. That would be a difficult one, wouldn’t it?!

“Although, I am sure Laura (Woods) wouldn’t mind having him at Arsenal.”

HARRY KANE IS ENGLAND’S RECORD GOALSCORER

At the age of 29, Harry Kane is already England’s top-scorer after he surpassed Wayne Rooney’s (53) record against Italy last Thursday.

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker, who scored 48 goals during his England career, labelled Kane as a ‘wonderful ‘player after that landmark moment.

But it’s high time that those individual awards are now met and added with team trophies because Kane’s career is very much deserving of it.
