Arsenal fans should be furious at what the Premier League have posted on Twitter - Our View

Arsenal supporters should be both furious and baffled at a tweet posted by the Premier League on Tuesday.

What’s the story?

Well, you may have heard that Arsenal are currently under investigation by the Football Association for the manner in which they celebrated Reiss Nelson’s stunning 97th minute winner against Bournemouth on Saturday.

As detailed by the BBC, the FA are looking into the fact that some of Arsenal’s coaching staff and substitutes raced onto the Emirates Stadium pitch to celebrate after the 23-year-old’s wonder goal secured all three points.

Chris Kavanagh included that fact in his match report, and depending on the FA’s verdict, Arsenal could be charged.

However, the Premier League are now using footage of those wild celebrations to advertise their product – if you would call it that – to their 39.5m Twitter followers.

You can see their tweet below.

It is hypocrisy at its finest.

If these celebrations are deemed to be illegal, then why are the Premier League encouraging it through endorsement?

Of course, the FA and the Premier League are not the same organisation, but they carry the same interests in relation to England’s top-flight, so they should be on the same page regarding the matter.

Arsenal will hopefully continue to celebrate Premier League goals in this manner

There are few things more irritating than the celebration police who have reared their ugly heads this season.

Football is about spontaneous bursts of passion and joy like we saw at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, where emotions spill over into ecstasy and fans are left scratching their eyes in disbelief.

It is not tennis where spectators simply sit and clap.

It is football, and if people such as Kavanagh feel there is no place for it in the game, then maybe we should be asking whether there’s a place for someone like Kavanagh in the sport.
