Kevin Durant recently sent shockwaves around the NBA after being traded to the Phoenix Suns. The two-time Finals MVP was traded, along with TJ Warren, from the Nets in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and Jae Crowder and a bunch of future draft picks.
KD is already settling into his new surroundings in Phoenix and made his debut this week vs the Charlotte Hornets. Durant’s move to Arizona coincides with WNBA great Brittney Griner recently signing a one-year contract with her former team, the Phoenix Mercury, for the upcoming 2023 season.
Griner was reportedly detained on drug charges in Russia in February 2022 and was given a nine-year prison sentence before returning to returning to America in a prisoner swap in December 2022. Griner missed the entirety of the 2022 season but will suit up for the Mercury when the WNBA season starts on Friday May 19.
She was recently spotted at the team facility for the first time and Griner had a new haircut.

The Phoenix Mercury recently shared a video of Kevin Durant and Brittney Griner embracing at the Suns and Mercury practice facility.
The post was captioned: “All love between BG x KD (heart emoji) It’s a new dawn in the desert,” with a 16-second video of Durant and Griner hugging below it.

However, after the clip went viral rumors started that Kevin Durant and Brittney Griner are dating. A post by Buttcrack Sports, which has been viewed over 6m times, shows Durant and Griner embracing with the caption: ‘Kevin Durant and Brittney Griner are rumored to now be dating.’
However, these rumors are false – Kevin Durant and Brittney Griner are not dating. In fact, Griner even has a wife, Cherelle Griner.
The account that posted the rumor is infamous for sharing satirical content and is a well-known parody account. However, it still manages to trick countless people, including one rumor about Ja Morant being suspended indefinitely.
As far as we know KD is singles and presumably locked in on delivering a championship to the Suns this season. He scored 23 points in his Suns debut but is still on a minutes restriction after recently coming back from injury.
