Andrew Wiggins has missed out on six games since February, and a fake viral rumor, involving his best friend and girlfriend, has theorized about his absence.
Andrew Wiggins, 28, has taken a break from the basketball court since his last game against the Wizards on February 13, 2023. Details of his absence are unknown, except that he has been missing due to a “family matter.”
Senior NBA writer Connor Letourneau said: “With Wiggins missing his sixth straight game Thursday night, it’s clear that he’s dealing with something serious.”
The Golden State Warriors has kept information under wraps, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from running with false gossip.

Why Andrew Wiggins’ best friend rumor is false
A TikTok video posted to Twitter on Thursday alleges that Wiggins is on a break after discovering his wife had been cheating on him with his best friend. The clip also states that the two daughters he shares with his wife aren’t his biological children.
The video has been viewed 1.2 million times on the platform alone, while tweets sharing the rumor have reached over half a million users.
There has been no confirmation from the parties involved to suggest that any part of the rumor is true.
The statements are also incorrect; the video suggests that Wiggins has a wife, but he has never been married. Andrew Wiggins shares two kids with his longtime girlfriend, Mychal M Johnson.

It also states that their first daughter, Amyah, was born during their high school days, but she was actually born on October 11, 2018, when he played for the Timberwolves.
Their second child, Alayah Milan, joined the family in April 2021.
Mychal and Andrew started dating in 2013 and bonded over their love of basketball. The mother of two was previously a player for the University of Notre Dame.

Twitter supports Wiggins against the false speculation
While some have jumped to conclusions, some are remaining hopeful that the allegations are truly incorrect.
“I hate people spread this (very possibly fake) Andrew Wiggins rumor,” one said. “That man and his team kept it private for a reason.”
“That is fake news..those kids look just like Andrew Wiggins,” another wrote.
A third directly replied to the TikTok video: “Stop believing everything y’all read on the internet”
