Fabrizio Romano has revealed on Twitter that Newcastle United are in advanced talks to land Manchester United Head of Young Recruitment David Harrison.
The transfer insider said the Magpies are looking to bring Harrison in as their new Head of Emerging Talent at St James Park.
Harrison would work for the first team and oversee Newcastle academy signings worldwide, according to Romano.
As per LinkedIn, Harrison has worked as Head of Young Recruitment at Old Trafford since January 2017.
Prior to his role at Man United, he held similar roles at Manchester City and Leeds United.
He is not to be confused with new Manchester United Director of Football Operations David Harrison.
The latter linked up with the Red Devils earlier this month from Everton.

As well as Harrison, the likes of Paul Midgley, Paul McLaren and Delroy Ebanks have joined or will reportedly be joining.
Credit to Newcastle for putting so much work into ensuring they can scout and develop their own stars.

After the takeover, some thought the Magpies would just be splashing the cash to sign marquee players.
This has not been the case. Newcastle are building slowly and steadily, playing the long game.
Since Dan Ashworth moved to the club from Brighton last summer, the Magpies have been developing their scouting structure.
As per the Shields Gazette, Newcastle are looking to appoint up to seven international scouts.
This would enable the Magpies to cover a number of European and South American countries.
“Your football club’s success depends on recruitment,” said Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.
“It’s that important. Who you bring into your football club really dictates what happens afterwards.
“I’m not involved in the structure of how we set up those departments.
“That’s other people’s jobs, but I’ll certainly welcome any changes that are positive for what we do.”
