BELOVED Bollywood actress, TV star and model Shefali Jariwala has died at the age of 42.
Jariwala made her big break in the world of TV and film in the early 2000s before having a popular stint on Bigg Boss 13 – India’s version of Big Brother.
The star died at Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday night after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to local news outlets.
Jariwala was first noticed for her talent after starring in the 2002 music video, Kaanta Laga by DJ Doll.
She went on to feature in dozens of Indian films such as Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Shaitani Rasmein, and Hudugaru.
Her final career role was on the TV show Shaitani Rasmein which aired in 2024.
Jariwala leaves behind her husband Parag Tyagi who is also a top film star.
Since her tragic passing was announced, hundreds of loving tributes from co-stars, friends and fans have poured in.
Fellow actor Aly Goni said on X: “Shocked and saddened to hear about Shefali Jariwala’s sudden demise.
“Life is so unpredictable. Rest in peace.”
Rapper Mika Singh posted a photo of Jariwala on Instagram alongside the heartfelt caption: “I’m deeply shocked, saddened, and feeling a heavy heart…
“Our beloved star and my dearest friend has left us. Still can’t believe it.
“You will always be remembered for your grace, smile, and spirit.”
Many also flooded her social media to pay their final respects.
Jariwala was a hugely popular social media star boasting over 3.4 million Instagram followers.
Her final post came on June 24, just three days before her passing.
It showed her looking glam in a sleek silver flared jumpsuit during a photoshoot.
It comes as Malayalam actress Dr Priya tragically passed away at the age of 35 in 2023.
The TV actress, who was pregnant at the time, died after suffering a cardiac arrest in a private hospital.
The actress underwent a regular pregnancy check-up at the hospital shortly before suffering the fatal heart attack – it has been reported.
Doctors have managed to save the newborn baby and he has been put in the Intensive Care Unit, according to the hospital.
