Tottenham Hotspur talent Destiny Udogie impressed once again on Saturday evening as Udinese beat AC Milan 3-1.
Spurs endured a nightmare Saturday afternoon as they squandered a 3-1 lead over Southampton to draw 3-3.
Antonio Conte seems to be raging once again and a parting of the way seems pretty obvious this summer.
That would mean that Conte won’t have the chance to work with wing back Udogie, who joins up with Spurs ahead of next season.
Conte leaving may ditch Tottenham’s wing back system but Udogie is making a real case to keep it.
Udogie lined up as a left wing back for Udinese as they took on Serie A champions AC Milan on Saturday.
This proved to be a great night for Udinese, who went ahead through Roberto Pereyra only for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to level it up.
Beto put Udinese ahead again and the win was sealed when Kingsley Ehizibue scored from an Udogie assist.
Tuttomercatoweb were very impressed with Udogie, rating him at 7 out of 10 for his performance against Milan.
TMW stated that Udogie caused ‘total confusion’ in the Milan defence with his runs forward, adding that his performance was ‘top-notch’.
Tottenham get their fair share of criticism for their recruitment and, to be honest, it’s probably valid.
Yet when it comes to Udogie, it seems that Tottenham have managed to get in quickly and secure a top talent.
Spurs struck a deal worth £15million rising to £18million for Udogie last summer, allowing him to spend the season back on loan at Udinese.
Udogie is heading for Tottenham this summer but if Spurs had waited, a number of other clubs would have no doubt wanted the 20-year-old.
This is a rare case of Tottenham being ahead of the curve in the transfer market – but whether Conte actually coaches Udogie remains to be seen.
