TLC star Amy Slaton and her friend, Brian Lovvron, were spotted holding hands after being released from jail on Tuesday.
Amy, 36, and Brian were arrested on Monday afternoon at a Tennessee Safari Park after police claimed they found magic mushrooms and marijuana inside Amy’s vehicle.
Amy and Brian walked hand-in-hand after leaving jail Tuesday afternoon, with Brian notably keeping his head down, avoiding photographers and local media.
Amy and Brian were both held in the Crockett County Jail on a $10,000 bond each.
Amy and Brian were released from custody on Tuesday afternoon.
Crockett County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Stephen Sutton told The U.S. Sun that Amy’s brother, Chris Combs, and the Hughes Bonding Company bonded both Amy and Brian out of jail.
Shortly after posting bond, the duo left the jail with Chris.
“They left the jail at 3:19 pm CT and are due in court Thursday [at] 8:30 am before general sessions judge Paul Conley,” Sutton added.
Amy and Brian are scheduled to make their first appearance in Crockett County General Sessions Court on September 5.
This status hearing is meant to determine whether Amy and Brian have retained an attorney or attorneys for their upcoming court case.
Upon leaving the jail, Brian donned a casual figure in a white t-shirt, salmon pink shorts, and mirrored shades stacked on top of a navy and sky-blue baseball cap.
Amy sported a loose black tank top and grey and pink camouflage bike shorts, the same outfit she wore the day of her arrest.
Her purple hair was thrown up in a messy bun, and she notably had what appeared to be a blue bandage tied around her right lower arm.
On Monday, Amy reportedly claimed she had been bitten by one of the park’s camels.
When prompted whether those allegations were true, Sutton was able to confirm that “an employee at the Safari Park” was the one to dial 911.
Sutton said the employee told the dispatcher “They needed an ambulance because someone had been bit by a camel.”
Amy Slaton’s arrest
The 1000-Lb. Sister star was charged and arrested on September 2.
- Amy and a man named Brian were at a drive-through safari park in Tennessee.
- Police were called when one of them, or someone in their party, was bit by a camel.
- Upon arriving at the park, cops claimed they were quickly confronted by a suspicious smell coming from Amy and Brian’s car.
- Authorities searched the vehicle and allegedly found drugs inside.
- Brian and Amy were each arrested and charged with illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule IV, and two counts of child endangerment.
- The pair were taken to Crockett County Jail.
- Released on Tuesday afternoon on $10,000 bond
“EMS [dealt] with the injury and the police [dealt] with the illegal substances that were in plain view,” Sutton added.
The Tennessee Safari Park’s co-owner, Claude Conley, 44, shut down Amy’s claims, telling The U.S. Sun that the cut on her arm was “not consistent with an animal bite.”
Police arrived on the scene because of reports of a bite, but became suspicious after noticing a distinct odor coming from Amy’s car.
The odor prompted them to search the car, where they allegedly discovered marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms inside.
Two children were also in the vehicle, prompting police to charge Amy and Brian with illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment.
While law enforcement declined to confirm the children’s identity because of their juvenile status, the Department of Children’s Services released the children to a relative caregiver.
Amy’s sister, Tammy Slaton, reportedly picked them up following Amy and Brian’s arrest, as reported by CBS affiliate WBBJ-TV.
REALITY BITES
Amy is best known for appearing alongside her sister, Tammy, 38, on TLC’s hit series, 1000-Lb. Sisters.
The series focuses on their day-to-day lives, including their weight loss journeys.
At her heaviest weight, Amy weighed 406 pounds.
She’s since dropped 176 pounds, and was down to 230 pounds as of December 2023.
Amy’s sister, Tammy, recently shared a major milestone related to her own weight-loss journey on Instagram.
“My life has been a rollercoaster, and I’m proud to share that I’ve lost over 500 pounds,” she revealed in a heartwarming video posted on August 27.
The show’s fifth season aired earlier this year, concluding on February 6.
One of the season’s major storylines involved Amy’s attempts at moving forward in her life following her divorce from her ex-husband, Michael Halterman.
Amy and Michael share custody of two kids, Gage Deon, 4, and Glenn Allen, 2.
While the show included Amy’s short-lived romances with two men, Tony and Kevin, following her divorce, it is unclear whether Brian is just a friend, or if the hand-holding duo are dating.
