The Hallmark Channel will show ‘Gilmore Girls’ started on August 25 to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.

It has been 25 years since Gilmore Girls premiered, and almost 9 years since we last connected with Rory Gilmore and Lorelai Gilmore on Netflix. Thankfully, fans can always revisit Gilmore Girls through rewatching. Jumping back into Stars Hollow just got easier for TV viewers, too. While the series is mostly available on streaming service providers, cable subscribers will have the chance this month to catch up with all of the Gilmore girls and the quirky residents of their iconic Connecticut towns on the Hallmark Channel.

‘Gilmore Girls’ to return for a linear marathon on the Hallmark Channel

If you enjoy the Hallmark Channel and nostalgic TV shows, you are in luck. Gilmore Girls is set to land on the network for a linear marathon this month. According to Deadline, the network will air the Gilmore Girls pilot episode on August 25 and all additional episodes on weekdays from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. On weekends, the episodes will air from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

The marathon will continue until the network has aired all 153 episodes of the series, so it will be around for a while. The event will celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary. Fans who miss Hallmark’s event won’t have to wait long to catch Rory and Lorelai again, though. The series will likely return to UpTV for its annual holiday marathon.

The beloved series has a few different streaming homes, too

Streaming fans have more options than ever before, too. Gilmore Girls has been a jewel in Netflix’s catalog for years, with the streaming service pioneer holding exclusive rights for several years. Now, though, other platforms are offering the show. Hulu and Disney+ are both offering up the series to fans. Gilmore Girls landed on Hulu and Disney+ in December 2024. Hulu even has created a curated playlist that allows fans to access just the show’s beloved holiday episodes for easy viewing.

While all seven seasons are no longer exclusive to Netflix, the provider does retain the rights to Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The Netflix original first aired in 2016, and allowed viewers to peek back in on Lorelai, Rory, and Emily Gilmore.  Fans have been clamoring for another season since. While a second season hasn’t happened yet, the company appears to be holding tightly to the original series. Perhaps that means something more is on the way.
