The musical theatre star revealed how he was stuck in an awkward moment as he attended a comedy show by a female comedian, which made him the butt of the jokes.

He explained: “The bulk of her show was about me, and obviously probably not very nice about me, and I was in the front row.”

He continued as he said: “She said ‘I don’t know what to do because my show’s sort of taking the p*** out of Will Young and Will Young’s sitting at the front.”

Realising his slip up, presenter Tim Lovejoy sprang into action to apologise for the blunder as he jumped in to add: “I must apologise for using that word.”

An embarrassed Will then made his own apologies as he said: “Oh sorry, I’m so sorry! Is that a bad word? Was it? I’m so sorry.”

Whilst the swearing caused giggles in the studio, Will Young then joked that due to appearing on the live show numerous times he ‘should have known better’.

Returning to his anecdote, Tim asked Will if the comedian had continued her set as the singer revealed she hadn’t.

He added: “She kind of stopped the show. I’m not joking.

“She did about 20 minutes and then that was it. It was so bizarre, very awkward.”

Whilst Channel 4 might have preferred the swear word blunder to go unnoticed by guests, it appears some still spotted the slip up.
