Will Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs take the stand in his federal trial? Here’s why a notable attorney doesn’t think Combs will — and why he’s better off keeping quiet.

The federal trial of hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, underway in New York, has finished its fourth week, intensifying with each session. The prosecution presented compelling testimony from multiple women, including former girlfriend Cassie Ventura and a woman identified as “Jane.” Their accounts described Combs’ sex parties known as “freak-offs. Victims were allegedly pressured into prolonged sexual acts involving other men while Combs observed. Additionally, a former assistant testified to enduring physical and sexual abuse during her employment.

So, will Combs testify in his trial? Here’s what a reporter said.

Will Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs take the stand in his federal trial? An attorney weighed in

The first four weeks of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial brought several key witnesses to the stand. Casandra “Cassie” Ventura painted a picture of Combs as an abusive partner. A hotel security guard, a male escort, a federal agent, Combs’ former assistants, Kid Cudi, and Ventura’s former friends are just a few of the people who have testified thus far.

Attorney Jesse Weber from Law&Crime spoke on Piers Morgan Uncensored about whether Combs will take the stand. Piers Morgan asked Weber if he believes Combs will testify.

“No,” Weber answered. “Let me tell you this — first of all, we all know that him taking the stand and being subjected to cross-examination by the prosecutors is going to be quite problematic for him. But you also have to wonder what his judgment is. In the United States, it’s his decision, and his decision alone, to testify.”

Weber recalled how Combs immediately addressed the hotel footage of him hurting Ventura back in 2016.

“But, he’s the same guy who thought it was a good idea two days after CNN published that footage of him back in 2016 to release an Instagram video apologizing for it,” Weber continued. “… So, if that’s the judgment of this criminal defendant, I don’t think him getting on the stand will do any good.”
