Princess Charlotte and her uncle, Prince Harry, don’t see much of each other these days. But Charlotte’s recent public appearance had eagle-eyed experts spotting something interesting about her outfit.
The royal family has been divided for several years. Back in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their working royal duties in pursuit of a happier life in the United States. They have since been living in California and raising their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in the US.
While Harry once had a close relationship with his niece and nephews (Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children), things seem to have become distant. However, Princess Charlotte’s one piece of jewelry during a recent public outing has a strange connection to her uncle.

It seems that Charlotte is too young to be taking a stance on the royal feud; at nine years old, Charlotte is the middle child of William and Kate, and she has begun making a few more public appearances as she approaches her pre-teen years. The princess likely doesn’t have a very close relationship with her Uncle Harry, but is it possible that she’s trying to send a message to him?
On Christmas Day, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Charlotte was wearing a necklace designed by Chelsy Davy, who was Prince Harry’s longtime girlfriend a while before he met and married Meghan. According to GB News, Charlotte wore an expensive ruby necklace valued at nearly $2,000 during her Christmas Day walkabout. But the surprising part is that it’s from AYA, which is Davy’s jewelry brand; the necklace was designed in partnership with Gemfields.
It’s unclear why Charlotte wore the necklace. Was it a dig at Meghan and Harry? It seems like it couldn’t have been, given Charlotte’s age and her distance from the royal feud. But who bought it for her? There are definitely a number of unanswered questions here.
Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy remained friends after their breakup
It’s possible that Davy has simply remained somewhat close with the royal family, and that William and Kate just wanted to support her jewelry line. Davy and Harry first met back in 2004 while Harry was in Africa, and they dated pretty consistently until 2011. Ultimately, Davy had difficulty acclimating to the royal spotlight, which caused their demise. He’s referenced breakups due to royal privacy issues in the past.
However, Davy and the prince remained friends; she even attended his 2018 wedding to Meghan. Although the odds are slim that Charlotte’s necklace was meant to send a negative message to her uncle, it certainly raised some eyebrows that she’d be supporting Harry’s ex.
