Vince previously credited his beloved wife for changing his life and fortunes as a singer, with Annie persuading him to launch his solo career – and she was right.

In 1962, the late star had his first hit with The Rivers Run Dry and he went on to become a multimillion-selling artist.

When did Annie Hill pass away?

In September 2016, Annie passed away from a degenerative lung condition.

She was 77-years-old at the time of her death.

It’s not clear what causes the illness but it usually affects over-70s and is rare in those under 50.

Did Vince and Annie Hall have any children together?

Vince and Annie shared one son together, Athol.

In 2014, Hill’s only son was found dead aged 42.

What did Vince Hall say after the death of his wife Annie?

Following the passing of his beloved wife, Vince Hill was left devasted.

In 2017, the late singer told the Express: ”Her death left a huge void – I was just in a daze.

”If I go into the bathroom, I expect to walk back in and see her and I dream I’m talking to her.”

He continued: ”It was a terrible time. I spent time talking to friends and neighbours in the pub – they don’t mind when it gets too much. Other people are going through so much too and being able to talk about it really helps.”

Discussing Annie’s funeral, Vince added: ”I was too distraught to sing but I played a song she’d loved – I’ll Be Seeing You.

”Annie was my strictest critic but also my biggest fan. I thought her passing would be the end of the road but talking to people and getting back on the treadmill has been my way forward. She would love that.”
