Robin Hugh Gibb CBE was a British musician, singer and songwriter.

He was a member of the Bee Gees with his older brother Barry and twin brother Maurice.

His younger brother Andy was also a singer.

He also had one sister Lesley Evans.

He grew up in Manchester.

Robin and his brothers began committing crimes such as burglary and arson.

The brothers formed the band The Rattlesnakes which was later renamed the Bee Gees.

The band later released legendary songs such as Staying Alive, To Love Somebody and Jive Talkin’.

Robin was married to Molly Hullis.

Not long after they were married they survived the Hither Green rail crash together.

They shared two children Spencer and Melissa.

Spencer is also a musician.

He later married Dwina Murphy, an author and artist.

They shared a son Robin-John who is also a musician.

Robin had an affair with his 25-year-old housekeeper, Claire Yang.

After eight years, his fourth child Snow Evelyn, Robin, John Gibb was born in 2008.

Robin was with his wife, his children and his brother Barry when he passed away.

Gibb was outlived by his mother.

Barbara Gibb lost three of her four sons before she passed away in 2016.

Andy Gibb passed away in 1988 whilst Maurice died in 2003.

What was Robin Gibbs last words?

Robin’s last words were a touching tribute to his twin brother Maurice.

He said to his family members:  

“I wish Mo was here, I can’t believe he is gone.”

What was Robin Gibb’s cause of death?

In 2010, when performing in Belgium, Robin began to have abdominal pains.

He later underwent emergency surgery but later returned to performing.

However, in April 2011 his health problems forced him to cancel his tour of Brazil.

He later cancelled a concert in Paris in October 2011.

Later that month he was rushed to hospital with severe abdominal pains but was later released.

He appeared on ITV’s The Alan Titchmarsh Show but was gaunt and frail.

On October 27th, he cancelled his appearance at the Poppy Appeal concert in London, minutes before he was due to perform.

He was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in November, which had metastasised to his liver several months earlier.

He underwent intestinal surgery in March 2012 and cancelled scheduled appearances.

However, in April he contracted pneumonia and fell into a coma which he later came out of it.

He passed away on May 20th 2012 at the age of 62.

His funeral was held June 8th.
