Who was Diana Dors?
Diana Dors was born Diana Mary Fluck on October 23, 1931, in Swindon.
She was an actress, and during her early career went on to conquer Hollywood.
Diana started her acting career when she enrolled at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), and was the youngest in her class.
The talented star was also known for her voice, and as a singer recorded four studio albums.


Towards the end of her life, Diana was best known for her cabaret and TV work.
She would regularly appear as a guest on chat shows.
When did Diana Dors die?
Towards the end of her life, Diana had meningitis and twice underwent surgery to remove cancerous tumours.
She then collapsed at her home near Windsor with acute stomach pains and died on May 4, 1984, aged 52.
Her cause of death was ovarian cancer, which was first diagnosed two years before her sad passing.
What was Diana Dors famous for?
Diana was known for being Britain’s blonde bombshell, and the UK’s version of Marilyn Monroe.

She also went by the nickname, The Siren of Swindon.
During her early career as a film actress, she was known for playing sexy sirens.
But as the 1960s turned into the 1970s, she began to play more mature roles, and was known for films like Craze (1974), Swedish Wildcats (1972), The Amorous Milkman (1975), and Three for All (1975).
Diana was also famed for her wild parties at her home.
Where is Diana Dors buried?
Diana converted to Catholicism in early 1973.
Her funeral service was held at the Sacred Heart Church in Sunningdale on May 11, 1984, and conducted by Father Theodore Fontanari.
She is buried in Sunningdale Catholic Cemetery.
Did Diana Dors have any children?
During her life Diana had three children, from two of her three husbands.
She didn’t have any kids with her first husband Dennis Hamilton, who she was wed from 1951 until 1959.
Her second marriage to Richard Dawson lasted seven years until their divorce in 1966.
During their time together they had two children, Mark and Gary Dawson.


Diana remained married to her third husband Alan Lake from 1968 until her death, and they welcomed a son called Jason Lake.
Sadly in 2019 Jason passed away aged just 50.
