Sir David Mark Rylance Waters is an English actor was born on January 18, 1960 in Kent.

As well as being known for being an actor he is also a playwright and theatre director.

He tends to go by Mark Rylance.

Rylance had had quite the career so far and has won and been nominated for multiple awards.

Rylance is married to director, composer and playwright Claire van Kampen after meeting in 1987 while working on a production of The Wandering Jew at the National Theatre.

They tied the knot in Oxfordshire on December 21, 1989.

The actor became a stepfather to her two daughters from a previous marriage.

Rylance plays the role of Thomas Cromwell in Wolf Hall: The Mirror and The Light.

He will be returning to the drama in the second series alongside Damian Lewis who plays Henry VIII.

Wolf Hall is based on the final novel in Hilary Mantel’s multi award-winning trilogy.

Almost ten years after the first series aired, the new season explores Cromwell continue his climb to power and wealth.

Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light will air on BBC One and iPlayer but an exact date has not yet been announced.

The series will consist of six episodes.

“Led by Mark Rylance and Damian Lewis, they’ve been drawn by the quality of Hilary Mantel’s writing and Peter Straughan’s adroit adaptation.”

Rylance can be recognised for playing multiple popular roles over the years.

His film career began when he starred in films such as Prospero’s Books (1991), Angels & Insects (1995) and Institute Benjamenta (1996).

Some of the biggest films he was involved in include: The BFG, The Other Boleyn Girl, Bridge of Spies, Ready Player One, Dunkirk, Don’t Look Up and The Outfit.

Meanwhile his TV career has been just as successful, starring in the likes of The Government Inspector and Wolf Hall.

In 2013 Rylance co-wrote the play Nice Fish which went on stage in Minneapolis and he also starred in.
