Who is influencer Cedric Grolet?
Born in Firminy, France on August 28, 1985, Cédric Grolet is a French pastry chef and social media influencer.
At the age of 21, he moved to Paris to work at Fauchon, a French gourmet food producer.
In 2011, after training under Christophe Adam for six years, he joined the team at the luxury hotel Le Meurice, where he is now the executive pastry chef.
In March 2018, he opened his first pastry shop in Paris.
Since then he has opened three more shops, which includes another one in the french capital and one in Singapore.
Cedric also has a London pastry shop, which is located within the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge.
However, the business was previously slammed by fans when it was revealed that the chef was charging £25 for a single cookie.
In one TikTok video, a user was shocked to discover their bill came to £34 after ordering a mint tea and a seemingly plain cookie, which they described as “daylight robbery”.
The user filmed pastries displayed on the counter and said: “You know never to trust somewhere that doesn’t have the prices or a menu out.
“So it had all these beautiful products but had no idea how much anything was.”
