IT’S FAIR to say Greg James is a household name, thanks to rise to fame on Radio 1.
But when he’s not busy taking over the airwaves, he enjoys a cosy home life with his wife Bella Mackie.

Who is Bella Mackie?
Bella Mackie is a journalist from London who’s previously written for VICE and The Guardian.
Her father is the journalist Alan Rusbridger who was the editor-in-chief of The Guardian from 1995-2015 – Bella chose the name Mackie to distinguish herself from her dad.
We don’t know when she started dating Greg James but it was definitely some time after March 2017 – when she wrote a Vogue article about embracing singledom.
In the piece she reveals that she was married before to a man she met when she was 28 – but was divorced within two years.
She left Vice to focus on writing a book about running and mental health.

When did Bella marry Greg James
In a change from tradition, Bella asked Greg to marry her back in February 2018.
They kept their engagement a secret until June 2018, when the Radio 1 star revealed they were getting married.
Taking to Instagram he shared: “Oh while we’re doing announcements, here’s something else…I’m having the time of my life and enjoying my work more than ever.
“I feel really content and it’s nice to have my shit together before I undertake a huge new work challenge.
“One of the main reasons for this happiness is because I met this person.

“This is Bella and in February she asked me to marry her.
“I said yes immediately because she is the smartest, funniest and most beautiful person I’ve ever met.
“The only problem is she loves staying up into the early hours drinking as much as I do and this is not conducive with 5am alarms. That said, it’s been quite a year.”
The happy couple got married in September 2018, with Greg announcing the happy news on social media.
Sharing four pictures of their big day, he said: “Bella and I got married and it was the most incredible day of my life.
“I think it was up there for her too.
“She is the best thing ever and I feel like I might actually burst with happiness.”
The beautiful bride wore a floor-length yellow gown, while husband Greg chose a navy suit for his wedding day.
Do they have any children?
As of 2023, the couple do not have children.
In fact in January 2023, Greg said he wished people would stop asking him, when they were going to have kids.
Speaking in his iNews column he wrote: “So, let me say it once and for all: we don’t know. We might have kids. We might not. We might not be able to.
“Whatever happens, it will have absolutely no bearing on your life whatsoever, so please don’t worry about it. It’s a thing for us to work out.”
