Who is Daniel Pearce Jackson Hodges?
Daniel Pearce Jackson Hodges, who was born 7 March 1969 in Lewisham, is best known as a British newspaper columnist.
Since March 2016 he has written a weekly column for The Mail on Sunday.
Before this he worked as a columnist for The Daily Telegraph and in 2013 was described by James Forsyth in The Spectator as David Cameron’s “new favourite columnist”.
Hodges has also worked for the New Statesman.


Dan is the son of the actress and former Labour MP Glenda Jackson and her then-husband Roy Hodges.
He went to Edge Hill College in Ormskirk, Lancashire, where he studied English Literature and Communications between 1987 and 1990.
He worked as a parliamentary researcher for his mother between 1992 and 1997, calling it “straight-forward nepotism”.
In 2017 Dan won the Political Commentator of the Year Award at The Comment Awards.
Hodges is also a war game designer. His first , with his first being Where There Is Discord: War in the South Atlantic which is about the Falklands War.

In November 2015 his first book, One Minute To Ten, was published by Penguin Books.
It is about the three party leaders Cameron, Miliband, and Clegg, and the effect the 2015 general election had on them.
When did Glenda Jackson die?
Actress Glenda Jackson passed away aged 87 on June 15, 2023.
She died “after a brief illness” at her home in Blackheath, south-east London, according to her agent.
In a statement, her agent Lionel Larner said: “Glenda Jackson, two-time Academy Award-winning actress and politician, died peacefully at her home in Blackheath, London this morning after a brief illness with her family at her side.
“She recently completed filming ‘The Great Escaper’ in which she co-starred with Michael Caine.”
Who was Glenda Jackson’s ex-husband Roy Hodges?
Roy Hodges was Glenda’s only ex-husband.
He was a stage manager and actor when he met her when they were in their early 20s.
The pair first crossed paths while taking part in the same theatre company.


Roy then went on to become an art dealer.
He passed away on June 14, 2017.
