Who is Amanda Abbington?
The actress was born Amanda Jane Smith on February 28, 1974, in North London.
She was born an only child and was brought up in Hertfordshire, England.
In October 2021, she got engaged to Britain’s Got Talent escapologist Jonathan Goodwin.
Her fiance has been left paralysed for life after a US stunt went terrifyingly wrong.

Amanda starred as Miss Mardle in Mr Selfridge from 2013 until 2016.
Amanda is also famous for her role as Mary Morstan, the wife of John Watson, played by her ex partner Martin Freeman, in Sherlock.
Amanda played various characters in police drama The Bill until 2007.

It was announced in 2016 that Amanda and Martin split after being together for 16 years.
In January of that year, it was revealed by The Sun that Martin was confronted by Amanda over a friendship with a showbiz researcher in the weeks before their shock split.
Furious Amanda was said to have raised questions over the unlikely friendship in the run up to the end of their 16 year relationship.
A source told The Sun: “Amanda was absolutely furious about it – she confronted him over his relationship with the woman, who works in the business too, and demanded answers.”
