Who is chef Paul Ainsworth?

CHEF Paul Ainsworth will be joining Gordon Ramsay on ITV’s Next Level Chef as a mentor.

Many cooking show fans will recognise the talented cook from his TV appearances on MasterChef and The Great British Menu.

Who is Paul Ainsworth?

Paul Ainsworth is an experienced chef from Southampton.

He has worked under world-renowned talents including Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing.

Ainsworth started his career after graduating with a hospitality and catering degree from Southampton City College.

During his studies in 1998, he began working for Gary Rhodes at Rhodes In The Square.

This was followed by three years of working with Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road.

In 2003, he began working for Chef Wareing before eventually opening his own restaurant which was awarded a Michelin star in 2013.

When was Paul Ainsworth on MasterChef?

In 2017, Ainsworth also appeared as a guest chef on MasterChef.

The experienced chef designed a challenging five-course menu for the finalists to complete.

Each dish had an American theme and he mentored the contestants through their four-hour time limit to replicate the intricate plates.

Paul also had a big say in which cooks go through to the next round of the popular TV competition.

Which restaurants does Paul Ainsworth own?

Paul is the proud owner of Paul Ainsworth at Number 6, which is located in Padstow, Cornwall.

As well as winning a Michelin star in 2013, the location has been included in the Good Food Guide’s top 50 UK restaurants.

Ainsworth revealed his approach to cooking is to “source amazing local, seasonal ingredients and serve them in a simple modern style”.

The chef also oversees two more Padstow restaurants – Italian Rojano’s in the Square and guesthouse The Townhouse.

Which TV shows has Paul Ainsworth appeared on?

Fans of British cooking shows have probably spotted Paul on TV before.

In 2019, the chef has made numerous appearances on Royal Recipes.

He also cooked up a storm on Saturday Kitchen and Country House Sunday.

 

Ainsworth made the best dessert on Great British Menu – meaning his delicious Trip to the Fairground dish earned a spot on the highly-anticipated banquet.

In 2023, it was announced that Ainsworth will be joining celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay and Nyesha Arrington on the UK version of Next Level Chef
