People in long-term relationships often get the question, “When are you getting married?” Then, after getting hitched are asked, “When are you having kids?”
Well, Simone Biles has heard those questions before too. After getting married to Jonathan Owens in 2023, fans have speculated about when they are going to have children. Here’s what Biles has said about having kids and what she told her followers when they began posting comments that she already had a bun in the oven.
When Biles and Owens got married
The GOAT Olympic gymnast and the NFL safety met on the dating app Raya and started dating in March 2020, which was the same time lockdowns were taking place all over the U.S. due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Two years later, Owens popped the question and Biles happily accepted. The two tied the knot at a Houston courthouse on April 22, 2023, before having a destination wedding in Mexico. The pair said “I do” for the second time in front of 140 guests with a reception held at Nobu Hotel Los Cabos.
In 2024, Biles marked their first wedding anniversary on Instagram writing: “This is your sign to marry your best friend. Happy 1st anniversary [wedding emojis] I’m excited for many more to come. I wish I could marry you a million times more! I love you so much!”
Biles addresses baby and pregnancy rumors
On Nov. 25, 2022, Biles’ brother and sister-in-law welcomed a new addition to their family. Biles shared snaps of her niece and said she was going to spoil her. Because Biles was so over the moon about her sibling’s daughter, fans started speculating that she was ready to have a baby of her own soon.
Months later, the Olympian posted a photo from a Green Bay Packers-New York Giants game when Owens was still playing for the Packers and that’s when some started claiming Biles was pregnant. When her Instagram became flooded with comments that she was expecting, the athlete reacted by shutting down the rumors herself.
“I hate that I even have to address this, but please stop commenting on this photo or my Instagram in general about me being ‘pregnant,’” she wrote. “I’m not pregnant.”
What Biles said about having kids with Owens
Biles has revealed her future plans about having children after that question came up during a Q&A session she did on Instagram.
When one fan asked if she did in fact want kids of her own and if so how many, the gymnast confirmed, “Yes, we want kids,” before adding “So, I want two kids. Jonathan would say three is the perfect number.”
Biles then joked that while her hubby might think three is the “perfect” number, he wouldn’t mind having more, a lot more writing: “He always says he wants a football team. I don’t want to be outnumbered, lol.”
