However, fans were left concerned for the actor when he disappeared from public life for six months following a shocking health scare.

What happened to Jamie Foxx?
In April 2023, it was reported that Jamie Fox had been hospitalised following a mystery illness.
The actor has never revealed what his health scare was, but he has told of how it left him “unable to walk”
At the time, Jamie’s daughter said that the star suffered a “medical complication”, which caused worried family members to rush to his bedside.
Corinne Foxx wrote: “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.
“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.
“Much love, The Foxx Family.”
What has Jamie Foxx said about his illness?
On December 4, 2023, Jamie made his first public speech since suffering the “medical complication” in April 2023.
He addressed his difficult road to recovery at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements.

Jamie opened up about his health scare during an emotional award acceptance speech.
The actor said: “I couldn’t do that six months ago, I couldn’t actually walk to [the stage].”
He then joked: “And I’m not a clone, I’m not a clone. I know a lot of people saying that I was cloned out there.”
Jamie went on: “It feels good to be here. I cherish every single minute now, it’s different.
“I wouldn’t wish what I went though on my worst enemy because it’s tough when it’s almost over, when you see the tunnel.
“I saw the tunnel, I didn’t see the light. It was hot in that tunnel too, I don’t know where I was going. ‘S**t, am I going to the right place?’”
The actor continued: “I have a new respect for life, I have a new respect for my art.”
What updates are there on Jamie Foxx’s health?
Since he was hospitalised, Jamie has given some updates on how he is doing – although he is yet to confirm any more details about his health scare.
He has been open about the fact he was left immobilised, but how he is now on the mend and can walk again.
In August 2023, the actor also revealed he was “starting to fell like himself again” after being struck down by the mystery illness.
In May 2023, Mike Tyson claimed Jamie had suffered a “stroke” – although this has never been confirmed by the movie star or his family.
