After her recent heartbreak she decided a transformation was in order.
In a video on Instagram the Talk TV star told fans: “Morning, I’m at the hairdresser, and I’m thinking, when all else fails get that barnet fixed. So that is what I’m doing.”
Vanessa, 60, then posed in the salon chair and with her tresses wrapped up in a towel.
She penned: “First fix the hair!”

In a second photo she unveiled her glamorous blowdry, with much brighter and smoother tresses following a freshen-up.
The TV star dumped her fiancé after suspicions that he had cheated on her with several women.

She told fans of her TalkTV drive time show that despite the “sadness” and “shock”, she wouldn’t let it get her down.
Vanessa said: “People who have been reading about my private life over the weekend will know that my 16-year relationship has come to an end.
“I have said, I’m very sad. I’m very shocked, but I am going to soldier forth. I hope to rise like a phoenix from the ashes and all of that.”
She added: “Meanwhile, I’m feeling that brokenhearted thing, you know where your heart hurts.
“You know, you feel as if you know the blood’s kind of stopping pumping halfway round.
“Then you kind of take a bit of a breath and shake a little bit, then it starts pumping again.”
Earlier this week the TV agony aunt appeared on This Morning and asked viewers to share tips on how to get over heartbreak.
Asked what the day’s topic was, she became tearful and said: “It’s about broken hearts really.”
She added: “I would love it if people called in and told me how they got over heartbreak.

“I’ll take any advice I can get, from anyone, if anyone wants help I’ll be there for them but also if anyone has anything they can tell me.
“I’d be really grateful to recieve it, because I feel like I’m in the eye of the storm, I really do.”
