Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend’s identity revealed as he gushes over their ‘good’ relationship: ‘I’m so glad we’re together’

The identity of Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend has been unveiled.

The actress, 63, is dating writer Mike Goodnough, who confirmed their relationship via an essay he wrote for his Substack site on Wednesday.

“I am Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend… and that may well be among the most surreal sentences I’ve ever pecked out,” he penned.

“But it’s true… and nothing about our actual relationship seems surreal. It just seems… good… lucky… a gift.”

“Life is crazy, kids. It just is. It’ll rain hellfire down on you for years and bring you to your knees… and then it’ll open the skies to deep blue and love and calling someone ‘Honey’ because you just love the absolute hell out of her and feel so very thankful for the gift of that feeling, the gift of her,” he continued.

Goodnough, who goes by “Hoarse Whisperer” on the site, further gushed that he simply adores the “One Day at a Time” alum and is “so glad” they’re together.

While at one point in his post he discussed a “rumor” about them meeting at a Panera Bread in New Jersey, he promised followers to reveal exactly how they began dating on his Substack page next week. However, the Emmy winner previously said they met on Instagram.

While Goodnough officially confirmed he is Bertinelli’s mystery boyfriend, the pair had previously hinted they were an item in the past.

The photographer accompanied his leading lady at her taping for “The Drew Barrymore Show” to promote her latest cookbook, “Indulge,” on April 3 and was even seen exiting the New York City studio with her.

Bertinelli even shared the photo of them on Threads Tuesday and playfully captioned it, “Hiding in plain sight 🤭.”

Goodnough wrote about being awestruck by Bertinelli while she taped “The Drew Barrymore Show” in an essay he posted April 9.

“On stage right in front of me, my girlfriend was funny and warm and affable,” he remembered. “She had the crowd leaning in and laughing aloud.”

While Bertinelli remained tight-lipped about the identity of her beau, she recently spoke highly of him during an interview with People.

“I’m in love. It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again,” she said. She also gushed that the relationship “feels incredibly right.”

The two-time Golden Globe winner confirmed she was in a relationship during a March interview with USA Today.

“I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him,” she reflected. “It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man.”

Their relationship blossomed nearly two years after Bertinelli finalized her divorce from Tom Vitale following a decade of marriage.

Bertinelli was famously married to the late rock icon Eddie Van Halen between 1981 and 2007. They share one son named Wolfgang.

Goodnough also has a son with his ex-wife.
