Valerie Bertinelli claps back at Botox accusations: ‘Don’t shame’ me

This star is giving her unfiltered take on Botox.

Valerie Bertinelli posted a now-deleted TikTok on Sunday that clapped back at a user who accused her of getting facial injections — admitting that she once “tried Botox” but it didn’t exactly go well.

Although the “Kid’s Baking Championship” co-host, 63, seems to have erased the clip, she shared it to her Instagram account — making the video in response to a fan who commented “The Botox looks great” on another of her TikToks.

“No shame! No judgments. But let’s talk about it shall we? 🤍🙏🏻🥰” she captioned the video.

“I know you didn’t mean that as a compliment, but let’s talk about it, shall we?” Bertinelli — who divorced her husband of 10 years, Tom Vitale, in 2022 — said in response to the comment, admitting, “I have tried Botox … I hated it.”

The “One Day at a Time” alum showed a photo of herself “six years ago” when she received the injections, sharing that she got Botox to improve the appearance of her “genetically puffy eyes.”

“They’ve always annoyed me,” she continued. “I’ve always wanted those deep-set eyes. Don’t have ’em. Never going to get ’em. So, just live with it.”

Instead of making her feel more confident about her features, the Food Network star said Botox “changed the shape of my eyebrows.”

Bertinelli — who has been candid about her struggles with body image — also dived deeper into the intent behind the fan’s comment.

“Like, what made you go out of your way to try to shame me?” the “Hot in Cleveland” actress said, adding she wasn’t “the first person to try to be shamed on TikTok or Instagram or any place.”

The TV personality added, “So, we’re women. We have to stick together, OK? Don’t shame somebody if they want to do something, anything, to make themselves feel better as they go out into this insane, flippin’ crazy world, OK?”

Friends and fans praised her honesty, like Tiffani Amber Thiessen, who wrote “@wolfiesmom this is why so many, like myself, love you.”

“Too many women declare war on other women,” an Instagram user added. “It’s like middle and high school never ended.”

Although the treatment wasn’t for her, Bertinelli said she doesn’t judge anyone who uses it — and would have continued getting injections if she’d been happy with the results.

“Some people can do Botox, and it looks amazing on them,” she said. “I am not one of them, unfortunately, or I would’ve kept doing it. But thankfully, it faded. I couldn’t wait for it to fade.”
