It’s getting heated in Hollywood.
United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer may have blasted Meghan Markle as “not a great … talent“ — but a stream of his own agents still tried to sign her, sources told Page Six.
Zimmer hit out after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s deal with Spotify imploded last week and it was revealed the audio giant won’t be making another series of Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast.
“Turns out Meghan Markle was not a great audio talent, or necessarily any kind of talent,” Zimmer told Semafor at the 2023 Cannes Lions advertising festival last week.
“And, you know, just because you’re famous doesn’t make you great at something,” he added.
But an industry source sniped to Page Six: “So then why did Jeremy have multiple agents trying to sign Meghan? They were in serious pursuit.
“One of their agents was recently actively pursuing her.”
Page Six has reached out to UTA for comment.

A source familiar with the situation said Markle never met or spoke with UTA agents.
In April Markle, 41, signed with rival agency WME, helmed by Hollywood power player Ari Emmanuel. Her day-to-day agents are Brad Slater and Jill Smoller — who also represents Markle’s close friend Serena Williams.
However, another source said that Emmanuel himself is “hands on” with Markle’s account and on daily calls about her new projects.
As Page Six previously revealed, Markle is looking for a luxury brand to partner with — although Dior and reps for the Sussexes have dismissed claims she will be the new face of the French fashion house.
Cartier is one name being touted, as Markle is a big fan.
Meanwhile, we’re told that, while Markle has been quiet about her next business move, it’s the calm before the storm.
“Meghan has an ace up her sleeve,” said a Hollywood insider who knows her.
Plans for her much-publicized entrepreneurial project will be released in the next few months, sources said, as she has reportedly been busy working on a new project akin to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop.
